Ed and Grace first crossed paths in the fall of 2021 at their neighbors' house. Grace had stopped by for a casual meal with her new neighborhood friend, Rene, while Ed came over to play
Yu-Gi-Oh with his childhood friend Maher — who just happened to be Rene’s husband. Although they didn’t speak much at first, fate kept nudging them together through their shared circle of friends.

One of their earliest memories together was playing a cooperative game called Hanabi. Afterward, Grace joked to her friend, “At least he’s not dumb” — a promising start! They made plans to go climbing together soon after… but Ed famously overslept and missed it. Despite the rocky start, meals, games, and good company drew them closer.

During their early days, Ed joined for Grace’s Chinese New Year celebration dinner. Although he was clueless about the traditional foods and customs, he won hearts (including Grace’s) by playing with her friend's young son all evening — showing that even if he didn’t know the traditions yet, he had the heart that mattered most.

As they spent more time together, they discovered a shared love for growth, games, and community. They started a tradition of going out for wings once a month and talking about how to move towards the life they want, together — a small but special date they both looked forward to, no matter how busy life got. Their love for games often meant dragging their friends into escape rooms (and doing a salty run back if they failed) and hosting regular board game nights and dinners for their community of chosen family.

Three years later, Ed proposed to Grace under the desert sky in Joshua Tree. They are excited to keep building a life full of growth and discovery — from gardening and trying new things, to continuously learning about each other, and hopefully one day opening their own farm.

They can't wait to celebrate the start of this next chapter with all of you — their closest friends and family!
