THE VENUE
Hsinchu NanYuan

Tucked in the misty foothills of Hsinchu, Nanyuan is a private estate where timeless beauty and history meet. Originally commissioned by the Chiang family — descendants of Chiang Kai-shek, a key figure in Taiwan’s modern history — Nanyuan was envisioned as an exclusive retreat embodying traditional Chinese ideals of family, community, and harmony.
Designed by renowned architect Han Pao-Teh, the estate unfolds like a classical Chinese garden, with elegant courtyards, peaceful ponds, and sweeping mountain views. In its early years, Nanyuan served as a private setting for diplomacy and cultural exchange, and hosted esteemed guests such as former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Today, Nanyuan is lovingly preserved and thoughtfully reimagined as a boutique retreat for events, celebrations, and tourism.
Train
You can reach Nan Yuan by High Speed Rail from Taipei Main Station to Hsinchu High Speed Rail Station and then taking a ~25 min taxi from the station to Hsinchu Nan Yuan
